Hello Chronobis Users,

This BETA version has some important changes, some of which will change the way use Chronobis and upgrading to this version requires your attention.

The major change between this and the last BETA version is the with the way that Chronobis synchronizes data with the OWA server. The previous versions of Chronobis downloaded all of the data (within the synchronization range) each time you synchronized. The new version only synchronizes items that have changed on the server, greatly reducing the amount of data used by Chronobis and increasing the synchronization speed (after the first synchronization). This has a couple of issues which will require your attention:

Any data you have previously synchronized won't be recognized by this new approach, so you will need to delete the old data to prevent duplicates. This wasn't automated in the installation because I think you should control deleting your data. There is a new feature however that will make this easy. Choose the File menu, then the Maintenance menu item. A page will be displayed that will allow you to manage your data on your device. You can delete only the data maintained by this and newer versions of Chronobis ("Chronobis Managed"), the data created by older versions of Chronobis ("Chronobis Legacy") [this information only displays if you have legacy data], or all of the items on your device. Deleting any of the data that is Chronobis Manged or Legacy should be ok, because it will be downloaded again the next time you synchronize. However, for those of you who want to, you can leave the old data on your device, however, you may experience duplicate data and only the newer version will be updated and maintained by Chronobis.

Secondly, due to the fact that Chronobis no longer downloads all of the data each time you synchronize, the sync days before and after settings have been removed. Instead you will find an Appointment Date Range setting. The reason the date range is there is due to the fact that OWA will expand recurring appointments out very far into the future, and not specifying an end date could be problematic (causing a large amount of data to be synchronized). For those of you who don't use Auto Archive on your calendar's might also find data from years ago on your calendar, this is why the start date is important. Because of the mechanism used to determine changes to your data on the server, any time you change this date range, all of the appointments within the new date range must be downloaded the first time you synchronize after making the change. After that, only the changes will be synchronized. You'll want to adjust this setting based on the number of appointments that you have recurring in the future, and other factors unique to your calendar. The default setting is set to 1 year from the day you install the new version. Because I have a large number of recurring appointments, I've chosen to change my setting to only synchronize a month of data at a time.

Change List:
* Removed Sync Days Before and Sync Days After settings.
* Added Appointment Date Range settings.
* Removed Synchronize...Calendar... All, Today, Tomorrow options as they aren't compatible with the new synchronize changes functionality.
* Added a Synchronize...All option.
* Removed the File...Utilities menu (replaced with the Maintenance menu)
* Added File...Maintenance menu to delete specific data.
* Changed the synchronization to only synchronize data that has changed on the server.
* Fixed the Update Available function, which wasn't working as expected. Also, the BETA versions will now notify you of new BETA versions available.
* Fixed other bugs and stability issues.

Please let me know of any issues, questions, or feedback that you have by posting in the forums. Also, remember you can now add feature request and vote for the features you want to see by clicking on "Vote for Features" in my signature.

Thanks,
